Terms of Service

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Welcome to Aurora Reader. These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Aurora Reader for using the app. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

This is a good-faith template. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional before relying on it as your official, legally binding terms.

Using the app

Aurora Reader is an ebook reader for Android. You may use it to read ebook and document files that you legally own or are otherwise entitled to read. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to break its security, or use it for unlawful purposes.

Your content

You are responsible for the books, files and notes you add to Aurora Reader. You retain all rights to your content; we claim no ownership of it. You must have the right to use any file you import — please respect copyright and licensing.

Public-domain titles available through built-in OPDS catalogs (such as Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks and Feedbooks) are provided by those third parties under their own terms.

Free app and Premium

The core app is free to use. Premium is an optional, one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features (such as text-to-speech, statistics, Google Drive sync and OPDS browsing).

  • A 7-day free trial lets you try Premium features. Unless stated otherwise on Google Play, the trial does not auto-charge a subscription — Premium is a one-time purchase.
  • Purchases are processed by Google Play. Pricing, taxes, refunds and billing are governed by Google Play’s terms and your local consumer-protection laws.
  • Refund requests are handled according to Google Play’s refund policy.

Third-party services

The app integrates optional third-party services (Google Drive, dictionary and translation APIs, OPDS catalogs, Google Play Billing, and analytics). Your use of those features is also subject to the relevant third party’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Aurora Reader reliable, but the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. Features may change, and we may update, suspend or discontinue parts of the app. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aurora Reader is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data — please keep your own backups of important content. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access if you materially breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
